Brisbane prop Brianna Clark is facing a two-match ban for a shoulder charge in another blow to the Broncos' sluggish NRLW campaign.
The match review committee cited Clark for a grade-one shoulder charge after she floored Sydney Roosters star Jess Sergis in the final minutes of Brisbane's 28-12 loss on Sunday.
The incident went unscrutinised on-field before the Roosters lodged a captain's challenge and the bunker instructed referee Belinda Sharpe to blow a penalty.
The offence would normally carry only a one-game ban with an early guilty plea, but Clark's record means she will sit out two, or three if she fights the charge at the judiciary and loses.
The ban comes as the Broncos fight to recover from their third 0-2 start in as many seasons.
Scott Prince's side sit ninth on the ladder following losses to Parramatta and the Roosters and things won't get any easier as last season's runners-up Gold Coast await next week.
Chelsea Lenarduzzi appears the likeliest candidate to join the starting side in Clark's absence.
The Broncos' front-row stocks are already depleted to begin the season, with Annetta-Claudia Nu'uausala serving a four-game ban for laying a hip-drop tackle on Parramatta's Reuben Cherrington in round one, and then punching sister Kennedy in the melee that ensued.
Veteran hooker Lavinia Gould is set to return from her own one-game ban to face the Titans next Sunday.
Elsewhere, North Queensland forward Shaniah Power has escaped suspension with a warning for pulling Teagan Berry's hair late in the 38-34 defeat of St George Illawarra.
