Toby Rudolf has put it on himself to match Lindsay Collins up the middle in Cronulla's do-or-die finals showdown, after conceding the Sydney Roosters prop is near impossible to wear down.
Rudolf will fight through the pain of ligament damage in a toe to play in Saturday night's elimination final after requiring needles before and during games for the past six weeks.
The Sharks prop was spotted wearing a moon boot at training this week, but insists he is no doubt for the match.
Front of his mind, however, is how to try and take down the Roosters forwards at PointsBet Stadium.
Rudolf considers Collins one of the best front-rowers, with the 27-year-old having arguably been the Tricolours' form player this season.
He was also close to Queensland's best in their State of Origin series victory, starring in the game-one win in Adelaide.
"You want to make him tired. You want to try and put that big shot on him. But the thing is everyone wants to put a shot on him," Rudolf told AAP.
"He is (194cm) and 120kg. It's hard to put a shot on. And I don't think he gets tired.
"He's too fit, too match fit at this time of year. I think he's a very good professional as well.
"So personally, I want to try and last longer than him, which is pretty hard.
"But it's a challenge and I love a challenge. I want to try and raise my own personal bar to try and meet that."
Collins is likely to take on an even greater responsibility for the Roosters, with Jared Waerea-Hargreaves banned for the rest of the season.
"He's in the upper echelon," Rudolf said of Collins.
"Payne (Haas) is the number one and I don't see that title going anywhere any time soon.
"But also, if you look at it, Lindsay was probably the best forward for Origin. He's one of the best props in the game, has been for three to four years now."
Rudolf is off contract at the end of next year, but has no intentions of testing the market on November 1 when he officially becomes a free agent.
"I'll state that I don't want to go anywhere," he said.
"I love it here and just moved here (to the Shire)."
