The Titans, in last position on the NRL ladder, were also unable to make any inroads against the Dolphins when lock Max Plath was put on report and sin-binned for a hip-drop tackle on Gold Coast winger Phil Sami in the first half.

Instead they coughed up the ball three times.

It was another bumbling Titans performance that featured 11 errors and 44 missed tackles. The performance followed a 28-4 loss to St George Illawarra and a 32-0 thumping from the Bulldogs. 

Hasler felt like he was in Groundhog Day when asked what went wrong against the Dolphins.

"You could probably copy and paste last week," he said.

"We are not good enough yet. I thought we probably had a bit better shape today (in attack) but it is just inexcusable where we are turning over possession."

Hasler's team must get used to his defensive systems, but he started with the club on November 1 last year so they should have by now.

"It is part and parcel of the game," he said.

"We have to get better at that. We haven't put two halves together and we can't use it as an excuse. It is something we have got to keep working at.

"I could line up the excuses. The list is long but what's the point? There is enough that we are showing, but we just have to get better at it."

The Titans welcomed back second-rower David Fifita from a pectoral tear and fullback Jayden Campbell from a knee injury for the Dolphins clash but it made little difference.

They were unable to make the most of a fast start.

"We set up some good platforms and then we give it all away, and it is not going to get any easier," Hasler said.

The Titans face North Queensland  in Townsville next Sunday afternoon.
