Road warriors Greater Western Sydney will be feeding on a hostile Adelaide Oval swarming with Port Adelaide fans when they face off in their AFL semi-final clash, coach Adam Kingsley says.
Kingsley is determined the famed 'orange tsunami' will sweep up the Power and their faithful when they meet on Saturday, despite having suffered a disappointing 51-point loss to Port earlier in the year.
"They’re a great club, their supporter base is passionate and loud," Kingsley said on Thursday.
"We’re used to that. We did a terrific job with that last week - 70,000 nearly at the ‘G (against St Kilda).
"We enjoy travelling and that’s reflected in the results. We encourage (the players) to embrace it."
GWS have etched themselves into football history as the first AFL club to register wins at 11 different venues in a single season.
The Giants have won eight of their 14 games on the road this campaign - the most of any club in the AFL.
"When we started getting those wins, it definitely just reinforced to all of us that we might be on the road, might get delayed at an airport, might have to go on a bus to Ballarat - whatever it is, we'll just get it done and get on with it," key forward Jake Riccardi told AAP.
"Whether it's this year, next year or years to come - we're going to be travelling."
While playing in front of big crowds at home has been rare, up-and-coming Giants star Toby Bedford believes fronting up against a side and their faithful has steeled the team.
"We're going to come up against some pretty big fan bases if we keep playing finals, and they're going to be loud," Bedford told AAP.
"But we don't rely on the crowd or anything else. We just know that we're going out there playing for each other.
"That's the most powerful thing."
Kingsley - a former Port Adelaide player - is confident he might spot a few Crows converts in the crowd when the players cross the white-line this weekend.
"I’m sure there won’t be a great call to arms needed with the Crows supporters, having known Adelaide quite well," Kingsley said.
"If we can get more people showing up supporting the Giants, I’m certainly all for it."
GWS ruckman Kieren Briggs has extended his contract by a further two years, tying him to the club until the end of 2026.
The 23-year-old local Sydney product has played the past 15 games, taking his career tally to 24 matches.
“We’re building something really special at the club and I’m really excited to be part of it for the next three years,” Briggs said.
