Australian guards Josh Giddey and Josh Green have been involved in an NBA thriller in Charlotte.

The Boomers teammates both reached double figures in scoring as Chicago beat the struggling Hornets 115-108 in overtime.

Two days after returning from an ankle injury and recording the 13th triple-double of his NBA career, in a home win against Milwaukee, Giddey had 13 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes of court time.

His latest double-double helped improve Chicago to 15-18, while Charlotte dropped an eighth game on the bounce and are now 7-25.

Green compiled 14 points, six boards and one assist for the beaten hosts, who also got 31 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists from Miles Bridges.

Trailing by three in regulation, Bridges missed a corner triple to tie it and Nikola Vucevic was fouled. But the Bulls centre missed both free throws, giving the Hornets another chance. This time, Bridges connected on a leaning three-pointer with two seconds left to send the game into OT, where it was all Chicago.

White narrowly missed his first career triple-double, finishing with 23 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Torrey Craig, who only featured in the second half, scored 18 with five three-pointers and Vucevic added 16 points and 13 boards.

In Washington, Josh Hart had 23 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists for his third triple-double of the season, Karl-Anthony Towns had 32 points and 13 rebounds, and New York beat the Wizards 126-106 for their eighth straight victory.

It was the second game in three nights between the teams. On Saturday, the Knicks (23-10) outlasted Washington 136-132 in overtime behind 55 points from Jalen Brunson.

Jonas Valanciunas equalled his season high with 22 points for Washington (5-25), while Alex Sarr and Malcolm Brogdon each had 18.

In Sacramento, De’Aaron Fox scored 33 points as the Kings beat Dallas Mavericks 110-100 to give Doug Christie his first win as the interim head coach after the hosts fired Mike Brown last week.

Trey Lyles had 14 points off the bench. DeMar DeRozan also had 14 points, and Domantas Sabonis had 17 points and 17 assists.

Spencer Dinwiddie and PJ Washington both had season highs for the Mavericks. Dinwiddie scored 30 points and Washington had 28.

Nikola Jokic had 36 points, 22 rebounds and 11 assists to lift the Denver Nuggets to a 132-121 win over Utah Jazz.

Russell Westbrook also had a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and finished 7 for 7 from the field with zero turnovers.

Jamal Murray also had 10 assists to go along with 20 points.

Jordan Clarkson scored 24, and Collin Sexton had 22 for the Jazz (7-24), who have lost three in a row.

In other matches, the New Orleans Pelicans lost 116-113 at home to the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers beat Golden State Warriors 113-95 and Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 125-103 away.
