Payne Haas has signed a three-year extension deal with Brisbane that will keep him at the NRL club until the end of 2026.
The NSW Origin prop knocked back a $2 million-per-season contract with a rival suitor to accept the Broncos deal with his manager Ahmad Merhi telling AAP the 23-year-old was over the moon to get his future sorted.
"Payne is delighted. This is his celebratory moment," Merhi said.
Merhi said the figures agreed with the Broncos were "private and confidential" but added there were other suitors who had put forward lucrative offers.
Merhi has always said getting the deal done was not about money and confirmed Haas had been in high demand.
"Payne has knocked back a $2 million-per-season deal to stay at Brisbane," he said.
"The offer was emailed to me. I showed it to Payne and he knocked it back.
"Brisbane have just been great to deal with.
"CEO Dave Donaghy has ensured the process has been smooth and what transpired the last couple of weeks has got it over the line.
"I was always hopeful of Payne staying at Brisbane. It was always going to be the best thing for him. It is what we all wanted."
Haas was on contract for 2024. His new deal includes an upgrade for next year and a two-year extension.
The Broncos have catered for Haas's request to upskill him in areas that will help him develop outside of rugby league.
Haas has stated his desire to win premierships and he believes he can do that at the Broncos, who are currently second on the ladder.
The new deal for Haas comes at just the right time for the Broncos ahead of their finals campaign.
Merhi had previously said that Haas would test the market on November 1 if a deal with the Broncos could not be struck. With all 16 other NRL clubs and rugby union interested in him the contract saga over the final six weeks of the season could have become a distraction.
Haas's commitment to the Broncos will ensure that does not eventuate.
In his most recent interview Haas spoke about his appreciation for the Broncos and how they had assisted his career. He also provided a window into how he feels about the current side he is playing in.
"People are starting to see how good we are and we know we can go up a few more levels," Haas said.
"I'm excited to see where we can go."
Haas is close friends with fellow prop forward Pat Carrigan who is signed until the end of 2028. Together they want to achieve what Haas's heroes Glenn Lazarus, Petero Civoniceva and Shane Webcke did.
"That mateship shows with our footy. It is pretty special here and something you don't want to lose," Haas said.
"We can do something pretty special. Having this kind of forward pack is pretty cool.
"You want to win premierships. You don't want to be out of finals."
