A mother who discharged herself and her newborn baby girl from a Queensland hospital has been found.
An alert was issued after 18-year-old Khloe Bornen left Ipswich Hospital with her daughter on Monday.
Police located the mother and her baby at Ipswich shortly after 11am on Wednesday.
It comes after Khloe’s mother, Manda-Jane Bornen, protested the need for the alert on Facebook insisting the pair were "safe and well".
"I've done what any mum would do to protect her child n (sic) grand child," she posted on Wednesday morning.
"She left our home not the hospital ... ill be suein (sic) for this discrimination (sic) of lies."
Police confirmed to AAP that investigators were aware of the comments on social media made by the Bornen family.
Queensland Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll earlier said officers were concerned for the safety of the child as the baby was only a few days old.
"We know that the mother just had the child in hospital and has literally just taken the child," she said.
