Georgia Voll has been called up for Australia's tour of New Zealand as reward for a stunning debut ODI series against India.
Voll was instrumental in locking up an unassailable 2-0 series lead for Australia with 101 runs in the second of three games last week. She had earlier made an unbeaten 46 runs on debut in Brisbane.
The 21-year-old, picked to open the batting in place of injured captain Alyssa Healy, will have another chance to impress in the third match against India in Perth on Wednesday.
But the match may not be Voll's last in national colours, with Cricket Australia confirming on Tuesday she will join the squad for this month's ODI tour of New Zealand.
Voll had originally been named only for the India series but will be available for selection for the three ODIs in Wellington, the first of which will be played on December 19.
Veteran batter Beth Mooney said Voll's debut series had been "impressive".
"She's taken to it like a duck to water," Mooney said.
"She's certainly done everything she can to make sure she keeps her name up in lights with the Australian selectors.
"She knows her game pretty well after playing a few years in domestic cricket so I think that's really helped her come into international cricket."
Mooney is prepared to continue keeping wicket in New Zealand as Healy recovers from the knee injury that curtailed her WBBL campaign with the Sydney Sixers.
Healy has resumed batting but wicketkeeping duties may be a bridge too far.
"She'll get assessed leading into New Zealand but I think at this stage she'll just try and get on the field as a batter," Mooney said.
Mooney is urging her teammates not to consider the third match of the India series a dead rubber given a victory will yield two points on the ICC Women's Championship ranking.
Two-time defending champions Australia lead the multi-year tournament as it nears its end but could still be chased down by third-placed India, who are seven points behind with seven games remaining.
Australia have only four games in hand: the last India match and the three against New Zealand.
"We have to take each of these games in isolation as they're for championship points," Mooney said.
"India still have a few games ahead of us in that table so we've got to try and nail tomorrow and then obviously head over the ditch to New Zealand and get a few more points over there."
