Chloe Logarzo is keeping one eye on the Olympic qualifiers and another on an A-League Women's trophy with Western United.
Falling short of a premiership last season, the newly recalled Matilda admits she won't be satisfied until her side goes one better this year.
United burst onto the scene in their debut season before their fairytale ended abruptly with a 4-0 grand-final defeat to Sydney FC last April.
Now finding their feet under first-year coach Kat Smith and boasting four consecutive wins, Logarzo says her side plans to bulldoze their way back to the grand final.
Western United sit second on the table with a two-point buffer over the Sky Blues, thanks to a Logarzo brace in their 3-2 victory over Brisbane Roar.
Western United aim to take the outright top spot with a victory over Wellington at City Vista Recreation Reserve on Sunday.
"It's the back end of the season now and we're getting to this form that gives us more energy to be able to keep performing and doing better," the United co-captain told AAP.
"When we reflect on last season, the character we had was pretty immense and it led us to a grand final in our first year, but I don't think it has anything on what we have right now.
"That maturity that we have now in our game style and in our souls has just shown tenfold because even when we're not playing amazing football we're able to get the job done.
"That's what championship teams do and it's something that we lacked last year.
"We want to win the premiership and we want to be in the grand final."
Melbourne Victory kick off the round On Friday night when they attempt to oust Western Sydney from their top-four spot.
Sydney FC will be looking to take back second place from Western United when they take on hosts Canberra United on Saturday, while Newcastle Jets host Brisbane Roar.
Also on Sunday, Melbourne City play Adelaide United and Central Coast battle for a spot in the top six against Perth Glory.
