NBL champions Tasmania JackJumpers will take their hunt for more silverware overseas, becoming the first Australian side to compete in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
The JackJumpers will represent Oceania at the international showpiece in Singapore in September, with clubs from all five FIBA regions taking part for the first time.
The tournament will also feature teams from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas, as well as NBA G League United.
Tasmania, led by American coach Scott Roth, have been included after upsetting Melbourne United in a best-of-five NBL Championship Series that went the distance in March.
It was the JackJumpers' maiden title after entering the NBL as an expansion club three years earlier.
NBL head of basketball operations Vince Crivelli said it is an honour to have the league's champions compete at the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
"Our relationship with FIBA is incredibly important and we continue to work with them to further support the growth of our great game, and this is also another tremendous opportunity to showcase the very best of the NBL at a global level," Crivelli said.
"We remain committed to expanding the NBL's footprint around the world and competing in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup tournament continues our work on this path.
"The JackJumpers' 2024 championship was historic and memorable for so many reasons, and now as a reward for their success, they have a chance to bring home another championship trophy.
"We wish them all the best and as an entire league will be supporting them throughout the FIBA Intercontinental Cup campaign."
Angola's Petro de Luanda, Argentina's Quimsa and Spain's Unicaja Malaga are also confirmed participants.
They will be joined by the winners of the inaugural Basketball Champions League Asia, with Al Riyadi (Lebanon), Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai (UAE), Shahrdary Gorgan (Iran) and Hiroshima Dragonflies (Japan) all still in the hunt.
The BCL Asia champions will be crowned on June 15.
