Todd Goldstein's remarkable AFL career will stretch into a 19th season after the veteran ruckman re-signed with Essendon for 2025.
Goldstein, taken with pick No.37 in the 2006 national draft, played 315 games for North Melbourne across 17 years before crossing to Essendon at the end of 2023.
The 36-year-old notched 14 games in his first season at the Bombers, playing a key role in the club's strong start to the campaign.
Earlier this year Goldstein became the first AFL/VFL player to crash through the 10,000 barrier for career hit-outs.
Goldstein currently has 10,181 career hitouts to his name and he also holds the record for most hitouts in a game - the 80 he achieved against GWS in round 12, 2015.
With a total of 329 AFL games to his name, Goldstein feels like he still has more to give, and he'll compete with Nick Bryan and Sam Draper for ruck duties next season.
“I’m excited to continue to work with Sam and Nick," Goldstein said in a statement.
"I felt like we were able to build a great relationship over the last 12 months and I think a bit more continuity of working together is only going to benefit everyone.
“To have three really viable options to play in the ruck is going to create a really competitive environment to hopefully drive us all to improve and give us multiple options next year."
Meanwhile, North Melbourne have announced four list changes, just days after West Coast forward Jack Darling confirmed he wanted to be traded to the Kangaroos.
Curtis Taylor, Bigoa Nyuon, Tyler Sellers and Hamish Free have all been told by North Melbourne they won't be offered contracts for 2025.
Taylor, taken by the Roos with pick No.46 in the 2018 national draft, played 76 games for North Melbourne but only eight this year.
Nyuon played just three games for the Roos this year, following on from his sole appearance for Richmond in 2022.
Sellers played just twice for North Melbourne, while Free failed to register a senior game.
Darling, a premiership player at West Coast who has kicked 532 goals from 298 games, will join North Melbourne on a two or three-year deal, with the Eagles expected to receive a late draft pick in return.
West Coast announced earlier this week midfielder Zane Trew, utility Jamaine Jones and Jordyn Baker wouldn't be offered contracts for next season.
Contracted defender Tom Barrass has requested a trade to Hawthorn.
