A massive bushfire south of Perth that was contained after it destroyed eight properties has flared up and is again threatening lives.
An emergency warning has been reissued on Tuesday for parts of Brookdale and Waroona in the shires of Waroona and Murray.
"You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive," the Department of Fire and Emergency Services alert said.
"There is a threat to lives and homes."
The blaze is moving fast in a southerly direction and and is out of control and unpredictable.
Emergency Services Minister Stephen Dawson earlier said the bushfire was contained but not controlled, with firefighters working to consolidate containment lines.
"Over the last 24 hours, firefighters with aerial support have managed to contain the fire spread and the strengthening of containment lines," he told reporters in Waroona.
"At this stage, we are not out of the woods just yet.
"It's still not under control but things are certainly looking much better than they were a few days ago."
The fire, which has about a 50km perimeter, started on Saturday in state forest west of the Nanga township and has burned about 3180 hectares.
"Despite atrocious conditions, with strong unpredictable wind changes, no lives have been lost," Mr Dawson said.
"That's really good news."
Authorities said it was accidentally sparked by campers trying to charge mobile phones with a car battery.
"This is a situation that could have been avoided and I would urge people not to be silly, not to do any tricks over the next few days, Mr Dawson said.
"One silly mistake can lead to people losing their lives, or indeed their livelihoods ...but certainly eight properties damaged as a result of this silly mistake really is not good."
The blaze has razed three homes and five short-stay accommodation units.
State government payments of $4000 are available for people whose homes were destroyed, with $2000 available to people with damaged property.
About 250 firefighters and support personnel are battling the fire with support from water bombers.
An evacuation centre is open at the Murray Aquatic and Recreation Centre in Pinjarra.
