Melbourne will allow Cameron Munster to make the call on whether he will back up against Manly following Queensland's State of Origin triumph, with the five-eighth missing the Storm's final training run.
While fellow Maroons Harry Grant and Xavier Coates fronted for their session ahead of Saturday night's clash with the Sea Eagles at AAMI Park, Munster remained home in bed, battling illness.
The star five-eighth revealed post-Origin he had been hit hard by a virus that had threatened to rule him out of the Suncorp Stadium match.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy remained hopeful Munster would be available to face the Sea Eagles, who won their round-seven encounter 18-8.
"I haven't even spoken to him, I've left him alone," Bellamy said.
"I'm not quite sure how bad he is or how sick he is but he's a fit young man who might recover in 24 hours.
"If he doesn't we know what we're going to do if he doesn't play so we'll go from there."
Jonah Pezet, who played at six while Munster was in Origin camp, is set to again partner Jahrome Hughes in the halves.
Bellamy said his third-placed team was "bashed" by Manly in their last meeting but wanted his team to stick to their game plan rather than be dragged into a slug-fest.
The Sea Eagles will be without superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic, who tore his pectoral muscle during Origin, while Maroons captain Daly Cherry-Evans is expected to play.
"We need to play our footy, the way that we think we're the best chance of winning games with," he said.
"That night, we looked like we were never in the game but we were only 10 points behind at the end.
"There was some parts of the game that we hung in really well."
The coach is looking for a response from former Dally M centre Justin Olam, who was relegated for a round to the Queensland Cup.
"We don't put him back to the Queensland Cup, just for the sake of it.
"He probably wasn't contributing as much as we would have liked or thought he was capable of giving.
"He's come back in this week and has a spring in his step so hopefully he will be ready to go."
Manly coach Anthony Seibold said 21-year-old Kaeo Weekes, who filled in for Trbojovic in round 16, was set to run out at fullback again.
The Sea Eagles are currently 12th on the ladder, but only one point outside the top eight.
Seibold said he hoped to see some more consistency from his troops.
"It would be nice as a coach to get some more consistency in our performances," he said.
"But that's our challenge and it's a great challenge to have. We'll attack the next job which is the (Melbourne) Storm."
