Gold Coast have picked highly touted draftee Jed Walter for his AFL debut as the Suns seek to extend their fast start to the season.

The 18-year-old Walter, one of the Suns' four recent academy draftees, will  play against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

Walter suffered a collarbone injury during the pre-season, but has been selected as the Suns chase a third consecutive win to start their year.

“It really is a dream come true, I couldn’t be more excited,” he said.

Walter - the No.3 pick at last year's draft and recruited alongside academy teammates Ethan Read, Jake Rogers and Will Graham - will debut in Ballarat against the Dogs, who lose James Harmes to suspension and again overlooked the experienced Jack Macrae.

The Bulldogs have named Oskar Baker, Sam Darcy, Taylor Duryea and Caleb Poulter in their extended squad.

Adelaide selected All Australian forward Taylor Walker in the side to meet Geelong on Friday night, but he remains in some doubt.

"Today was another light (training) session and we'll see how we pulls up," Crows coach Matthew Nicks said.

Key defender Jordon Butts was also picked, despite carrying an ankle injury.

The Crows also recalled Irish-born backman Mark Keane and Ned McHenry, while axing James Borlase, Lachlan Sholl and Lachlan Gollant.

The Cats lost Tanner Bruhn to a foot sprain, replacing him with Irishman Oisin Mullin for the Adelaide Oval fixture.

Hawthorn selected an unchanged line-up for their Saturday MCG encounter with Melbourne, who dropped Taj Woewodin and recalled versatile defender Harrison Petty.

North Melbourne summoned experienced pair Luke McDonald and Jy Simpkin for their match against Fremantle at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.

Simpkin returns after being concussed by St Kilda's Jimmy Webster in a pre-season game, which cost the Saint a seven-game ban.

Veteran Liam Shiels (dropped) and Jacob Goater (achilles) are out for the Kangaroos.

The Dockers, after their impressive first-up win over Brisbane, recalled spearhead Matt Taberner, Jaeger O'Meara, Joshua Draper and Brandon Walker.

They replace injured trio Oscar McDonald, Brennan Cox and Karl Worner, while Neil Erasmus was omitted.

Sydney's Robbie Fox (injured) was ruled out, with midfielder Corey Warner called up for the Saturday night SCG clash against Essendon.

The Bombers made four changes, with injured duo Zac Reid and Matt Guelfi unavailable, Mason Redman suspended, and Harrison Jones dropped.

Darcy Parish has been picked after battling a recent hamstring injury.

Port Adelaide named Mitch Georgiades for a possible comeback after a knee reconstruction last year, Jase Burgoyne, Dylan Williams and ruck recruit Jordan Sweet in the extended squad for Sunday's away game against Richmond.

The Power's Jed McEntee was unavailable because of concussion, while the Tigers lost three players to injury - Dion Presita, Josh Gibcus and Tylar Young.

Richmond added six players to their squad: Tom Brown, Ben Miller, Sam Banks, New Zealander Mykelti Lefau, Judson Clarke and Samson Ryan.

West Coast couldn't consider captain Oscar Allen (knee) for their Sunday game against GWS, who lost veteran Nick Haynes for personal reasons.
