A Chloe Molloy masterclass has propelled Sydney to a record-breaking 57-point AFLW thumping of the winless Western Bulldogs.
The Swans, who went winless in their debut season last year, brought up their biggest score and greatest winning margin in their short history with an exciting display at Whitten Oval on Saturday.
After a five-goal second term, which included a four-minute burst of three majors, Sydney had already brought up their largest score in an AFLW game by halftime.
The Bulldogs held their own in the last quarter but the damage had already been done as the Swans ran out 14.12 (96) to 6.3 (39) winners.
The total was also the biggest the Dogs have conceded in their history, topping the 83 Melbourne kicked against them in round three.
The Swans stormed out of the blocks with the opening two goals just five minutes into the contest.
They went to another level in the second quarter, putting the result beyond doubt by the main break to lead by a whopping 42 points to shock the Bulldogs and their strong home crowd.
Molloy, the Swans’ star off-season recruit, turned on one of the best performances of her career to demolish their injury-hit hosts.
The former Collingwood ace was a class above as she kicked 3.4 from her 28 possessions and played a crucial role in setting up numerous other Sydney goals.
"She (Molloy) was itching to get in there (in the midfield)," Swans coach Scott Gowans said.
"We kept her forward deliberately. It was important Chloe played a good block of time forward so we could have a look at it.
"She’s just a great footballer and her and Laura (Gardiner) were really able to get their hands on the footy."
Ruby Sargent-Wilson, Sofia Hurley and Cynthia Hamilton all kicked two goals each in the Swans' rout, while Gardiner was the leading possession winner on ground with 33.
Sydney's fourth win of the campaign keeps them in finals contention.
They could finish this round outside of the top eight on percentage only, ahead of their final two home and away games against Collingwood (home) and Fremantle (away).
The lopsided result is sure to put more pressure on Bulldogs coach Nathan Burke, who has already faced questions about his future beyond this season.
Captain Ellie Blackburn (30 possessions) and fellow star Kirsty Lamb (24 touches, one goal) worked hard but the Bulldogs were outclassed across the ground.
