The Sydney Roosters have laughed off talk that Trent Robinson should go as the Tricolours endure the most challenging period in the three-time premiership coach's decade-long tenure.
The Roosters are languishing in 11th position after Saturday night's 30-6 NRL drubbing at the hands of Penrith, prompting a fierce backlash from fickle fans who are pointing the finger of blame squarely at Robinson.
The Roosters have scored the fewest points of any side this season through 15 rounds while leaking at least 20 in defence in 10 of their 13 games, leading to calls that the fallen giants "need a new voice" as coach.
But hooker Jake Turpin reckons that's ridiculous.
"Coming to the club and being my first year here, I think Trent's a great coach. He's helped me out a lot. I don't think that's correct, them saying that," Turpin said on Monday.
"It's sort of funny to hear that. Inside our four walls here we know he's a great coach. I don't think if that's really the right thing to be saying."
Turpin insists there's no panic stations as the Roosters navigate through an injury crisis without suspended hardman Victor Radley.
"It's not the end of the world," he said.
"There's a lot of belief in this club that we can turn it around. We're not far off that and we can all feel that.
"As much as we want to be playing better footy, we're not worried. We know we've got it there, we know we're this close to turning it around and turning the year around."
Still only one point outside the top eight, the Roosters play Newcastle, Canberra and Manly in the next three weeks before enjoying a round-19 bye and sense an opportunity to climb the ladder over the important next month.
"There's no easy games in the NRL - they're all tough - but we sat before this little five-week period before we got the bye and we wanted to really chase those games," Turpin said.
""We've got three left and that's the plan - we want to win them all.
"We want to do the best job we can these next three weeks and go into the bye hopefully refreshed and come back and go again.
""With rugby league, losing's contagious and I think winning can be contagious as well."
