Virgin Australia and Link Airways have signed a new codesharing partnership that will add 90 flights a week to Virgin Australia's domestic network.
The codeshare agreement includes flights to Inverell and Wollongong in NSW and Biloela, Queensland, which aren't currently serviced by any other major airline.
A total of 17 different regional codeshare services have been added to Virgin Australia's network, the airlines said on Thursday.
Ten of the flights are out of Brisbane, two each from Sydney and Canberra, and three are out of and into Melbourne.
“Today’s announcement in partnership with Link Airways underscores our commitment to delivering great value, flexibility and choice to Australians, and boosting connections for customers living in regional Australia,” said Virgin Australia chief strategy and transformation officer Alistair Hartley.
Flights under the code-sharing agreement can be booked via Virgin Australia's travel agency partners effective on Thursday, and directly on the Virgin Australia website from March.
