Adam Voges's title-laden run as coach of the Perth Scorchers and Western Australia has been rewarded with a two-year contract extension, tying him to WA Cricket until 2026.
Voges will already go down as one of Australia's most successful domestic coaches after netting a whopping eight titles since taking over from Justin Langer in 2018.
The 44-year-old helped WA break their 23-year Sheffield Shield drought by guiding the state side to the red-ball crown in 2021/22.
Voges also led WA to the one-day title that summer, as well as taking the Perth Scorchers to Big Bash League glory.
The following year, Voges again netted the Shield, one-day, and BBL crowns, the first time the feat had been achieved two years in a row.
Last Sunday, WA won the one-day competition for a third straight season - becoming the first state to achieve the hat-trick since NSW in 2003.
With two rounds remaining, WA currently sit third on the Shield table - meaning a hat-trick of titles in the red-ball format is still on the cards.
Voges is already being touted as a future head coach of Australia.
He experienced a taste of national coaching shortly before the 2023/24 season, mentoring Australia A during three 50-over games and two four-day contests against New Zealand A in Queensland.
Voges said he was excited to continue as coach of WA and the Scorchers for at least two more years. “We’ve achieved a lot together over the last few years while living by values we can all be proud of," Voges said in a statement. “I certainly have the hunger and drive to take this group forward, and I’m confident the team is just as committed to achieving our ultimate goal of sustained success.”
WA take on Queensland in a Shield match at the WACA Ground starting on Friday, knowing a loss could end their hopes of reaching the final.
The Warriors then take on second-placed Victoria in Melbourne in the final round.
