St Kilda wield the axe, Docker Darcy still sidelined

St Kilda coach Ross Lyon has made six changes on the back of last week's shock loss to Hawthorn, while Fremantle will be without star ruckman Sean Darcy for a second straight week.

Lyon has axed Angus Hastie, Jack Hayes and Hugo Garcia for Saturday night's clash with Fremantle, while forward Tim Membrey, Liam Stocker and Seb Ross are officially listed as being "managed".

St Kilda have named former Carlton midfielder Paddy Dow for his Saints debut, while Cooper Sharman, Anthony Caminiti, Zak Jones, Lance Collard and Mattaes Phillipou are the other inclusions.

Fremantle were initially hopeful Darcy would be able to recover from the minor calf niggle that kept him out of last week's 48-point loss to Sydney.

His absence means Luke Jackson will again lead the ruck.

Carlton made four changes for Friday night's huge encounter with Sydney at the SCG.

Adam Cerra (hamstring), Matthew Cottrell (foot) and Jack Martin (calf) were all ruled out.

Zac Williams returns from a glute injury, with Caleb Marchbank, Orazio Fantasia and Jack Carroll also called up.

Sydney have again overlooked fit-again midfielder Luke Parker.

West Coast will again be without star midfielder Elliot Yeo (groin), but Jake Waterman returns from concussion for Sunday's home encounter with Melbourne.

Star Eagles defender Jeremy McGovern has also been cleared to play despite last week's heavy fall.

Melbourne will be without Ed Langdon for personal reasons, while Jacob van Rooyen and Daniel Turner are injured.

Former Crows forward Shane McAdam has been named for his Demons debut.

Port Adelaide welcome back skipper Connor Rozee (hamstring) for Sunday's meeting with Hawthorn, while ruckman Jordon Sweet was also named in the extended squad.

The Hawks have rested Jack Gunston and lost Jack Scrimshaw to suspension.

Mature-age Hawks recruit Ethan Phillips has been named for his AFL debut, while key forward Mabior Chol has also been added to the line up.

Defender Changkuoth Jiath was named on an extended bench.

GWS pair Josh Kelly and Lachie Ash are expected to miss about six weeks due to calf injuries.

Xavier O’Halloran and Jacob Wehr have been named as their replacements for Saturday's encounter with the Western Bulldogs.

Bulldogs veteran Caleb Daniel has been recalled to replace Jason Johannisen (hamstring).

Collingwood received a double boost with the return of Jordan De Goey from injury and Lachie Schultz from suspension for Saturday's clash with Adelaide at the MCG, but Tom Mitchell is still sidelined with a foot injury.

Jeremy Howe and Jack Bytel go out with injury.

Crows defender Josh Worrell was ruled out through injury, while prized draft recruit Daniel Curtin was dropped.

Essendon have named fit-again veteran Dylan Shiel in their extended squad for Sunday's match against North Melbourne.

The Kangaroos have been boosted by the return of co-captain Jy Simpkin.

Richmond have handed Steely Green his AFL debut for Saturday night's match against Brisbane at the Gabba.

Maurice Rioli (syndesmosis), Jack Graham (hamstring), Sam Banks (concussion) and Seth Campbell (knee) were all ruled out, while Liam Baker (corked leg) hasn't recovered in time.

Brisbane welcome back Noah Answerth from concussion.
