SailGP have unveiled a return to Sydney’s iconic harbour for a record sixth event as part of their 2024-25 season calendar.

The KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix Sydney will take place on February 8-9 as the third event of the league’s most expansive season yet, featuring 14 stagings across five continents.

The 12-month SailGP Season 5 runs for 12 months from November, starting and finishing in the United Arab Emirates. It will feature new events in Auckland, Brazil, Germany and Switzerland.

The Sydney hosting has cemented itself as one of the most anticipated events of the summer, drawing thousands of fans from around the globe.

Tom Slingsby, the SailGP Australia team driver and CEO, said: “We are thrilled to be returning to Sydney again in Season 5. Winning on Sydney Harbour in Season 4 in front of thousands of fans and our families was one of the highlights of our careers.

"There’s nothing quite like racing and winning in front of our home crowd, and we can’t wait to bring that electric energy and excitement back to this iconic location.

"Sydney holds a special place in our hearts, and we look forward to delivering another unforgettable event for our Aussie fans.”
